Product Management • Acquires knowledge and be updated on xxxxxx product lines, their markets and competition: becomes an in-house expert of assigned products. • Develops and implements strategy to launch and expand market for assigned products based on market analyses. • Monitors the sales performance of assigned products and develops plans to improve and enhance the results. • Develops training plans and designs materials on surgical technique information required for each product. • Performs product demonstrations for customers and sales representatives. • Provides support and education to the customers and sales team on an ongoing basis. • Seeks and maintains relationship with key surgeons and other decision makers to understand their needs and enhance their interest in xxxxxx products. • Works closely with the suppliers: negotiates price, addresses any issues and furnishes them with market/market data to meet customer requirements. • Maintains, updates and builds on the company’s internet site. • Designs product catalogues and other communication materials. • Plans and organizes national and internal trade shows, conventions and laboratory events. • Leads, in collaboration with the QA team, the overall product development processes including understanding of surgeons’ needs, proposals, feasibility studies, preparation of product specifications, approval from xxxxxx Corporation, prototype design and risk management Product Development • Determines the process for creating a new item • Perform research in order to determine the best way to produce a particular item • Oversees product development in a cross functional way, reporting to different stakeholders, assigns priorities and timelines; making sure project proceeds as scheduled. • Coordinates with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Procurement, Quality Assurance and Regulatory that all milestones in the product development pipeline are achieved. • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES • College degree is mandatory, with preference for study in marketing, business or scientific curriculum • Medical/surgical device industry experience is essential • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • 30%-40% travel will be required
